United States of America National Tours videos of the Phantom of the Opera
1st US Tour (31.05.1989 – 15.11.1998)
Los Angeles, Ahmanson Theatre (31.05.1989 - 29.08.1993)
1989; Los Angeles, USA* Michael Crawford (Phantom), Dale Kristen (Christine), Steve Barton (Raoul) Heavy generation loss, almost nothing is visible, still not too bad quality for its age. VOB|1 DVD|2.02 GB
May/June 1989; Los Angeles, USA Michael Crawford (Phantom), Dale Kristen (Christine), Steve Barton (Raoul), Leigh Munro (Carlotta), Calvin Remsberg (Firmin) Surprisingly good quality for something so old. Definitely the best video of Crawford around. 2 versions available, I recommend to own both. Version 1: common version, good quality for its age, still some gen loss which made it a bit blurry. Includes Crawford's studio performance of Music of the Night from an unknown to me source. VOB|1 DVD|4.15 GB Version 2*: I got this one directly from the person who digitalized it upon my request so it's rather rare thing. Starts 10 seconds earlier than version 1, much less gen loss so picture is clearer but it's darker and colors are faded a bit. Sound is a bit clearer but has some crackle and has breaks every few seconds during last 15 minutes. 3rd pic. VOB|1 DVD|3.99 GB
1990; Los Angeles, USA* Michael Crawford (Phantom), Mary D’Arcy (alt. Christine), Reece Holland (Raoul) VOB|1 DVD|4.09 GB
3 January 1991; Los Angeles, USA* Michael Crawford (Phantom), Dale Kristien (Christine), Michael Piontek (Raoul) About an hour of Crawford-centred highlights plus a few other scenes. Probably the best quality of picture among videos with Crawford, but the filming is very shaky, some blackouts as well. Also includes MP4 version with better colors. VOB|1 DVD|1.95 GB missing smalls Limited Trade
1991 or 1993; Los Angeles, USA* Davis Gaines (Phantom), Dale Kristien (Christine), Michael Piontek (Raoul) Heavy generation loss but the only bootleg of early Gaines. Filming is pretty good. Also includes part of the first lair from another performance. VOB|1 DVD|3.96 GB
29 August 1993 (Matinee); Los Angeles, USA* Davis Gaines (Phantom), Dale Kristien (Christine), Michael Piontek (Raoul), Leigh Munro (Carlotta), Norman Large (André), Calvin Remsberg (Firmin), Barbara Lang (Mme Giry), Gualtiero Negrini (Piangi), Elizabeth Stringer (Meg) Monitor video. Weight of recording, absence of flub in "Down Once More' and absence of TV-spots indicate that this is not the same recording as below though it's difficult to find differences in recordings themselves. This one has more generation loss which affected video but I think that sound here is better than in Evening performance. VOB|1 DVD|3.93 GB
29 August 1993 (Evening); Los Angeles, USA Davis Gaines (Phantom), Dale Kristien (Christine), Michael Piontek (Raoul), Leigh Munro (Carlotta), Norman Large (André), Gualtiero Negrini (Piangi), Barbara Lang (Mme Giry), Elizabeth Stringer (Meg) Last performance in LA for this tour. Monitor video. Includes speeches, flub where the Phantom messing up a line in 'Down Once More'. Also features TV-spot about Los Angeles production. VOB|1 DVD|2.71 GB missing smalls
San Francisco, Curran Theatre (12.12.1993 - 03.01.1999)
15 October 1998; San Francisco, USA* Franc D'Ambrosio (Phantom), Lisa Vroman (Christine), Christopher Carl (Raoul) Vertically filmed highlights directly from the master, ~ 92 min. MP4|0.81 GB Limited Trade
25 & 26 June 1992/1993; Philadelphia/Detroit, USA* Kevin Gray (Phantom), Dodie Pettit (Christine u/s 1992)/Teri Bibb (Christine 1993), Keith Buterbaugh (Raoul 1992)/Nat Chandler (Raoul 1993), David Hunerjaeger 3 sets of highlights in one DVD. First two (from Philadelphia) probably were filmed by the same person and quality there is quite poor. Detroit video is much better, but it's shorter (35 minutes comparing to 85 and 45 minutes for others). Screenshots below are for every video in chronological order. VOB|1 DVD|4.15 GB
Los Angeles, Pantages Theatre (30.08 - 15.11.1998)
September 1998; Los Angeles, USA* Davis Gaines (Phantom), Marie Danvers (Christine), Lawrence Anderson (Raoul) Extremely clear picture, but colors are faded. A little bit shaky filming with minor obstruction. VOB|1 DVD|3.40 GB missing smalls
4 October 1998; Los Angeles, USA* Davis Gaines (Phantom), Marie Danvers (Christine), Lawrence Anderson? (Raoul), Leila Martin (Mme Giry) Highlights, ~51 min. One of those weird vertical videos, great capture, can be pixelated at close-ups. MP4|3.56 GB
2nd US Tour (03.12.1992 - 31.10.2010)
Pittsburgh, Benedum Center (24.07 - 26.09.1993)
July 1993; Pittsburg, USA* Franc D’Ambrosio (Phantom), Tracy Shayne (Christine), Ciaran Sheehan (Raoul) 50 min, of well filmed highlights, comes with Bway 1995 video which I have separately but here it's smooth (3rd screencap). MP4|0.35 GB looking for VOB
-------------------
1999; USA* Brad Little (Phantom), Amy Jo Arrington or Megan Starr Levitt (Christine) Nothing is known about location except that the state is Texas. Trader's note: A rare find! It's only about 12 minutes of the show; I wish it was longer or even the full show not only because of the cast but because some of the closeups are pretty good. Because of the quality and that Amy and Megan did look a little similar, I can't tell which one of them it is. So if you know let me know! MP4|0.04 GB looking for VOB Very Limited Trade
1998 & 1999; Philadelphia & Salt Lake City, USA* Brad Little & Ian Jon Bourg (Phantom princ. & u/s), Rebecca Pitcher (Christine Daaé), Richard Todd Adams (Raoul), Ian Job Bourg (Andre) 2 sets of Bourg-oriented highlights merged in one decent video, 80 minutes. The quality of sets is various: the one with Bourg as Andre features bright but almost colorless picture, while the one with him as the Phantom is much darker and colorful. Filming is very similar. My favorite subject: colossal mess in labeling old American POTO videos. I'm pretty sure that the brighter parts are taken from the video which is also presented below but generation loss is much heavier here, transfer loss is not so heavy though. The problem is that the one below is labeled as Pittsburgh and has an exact date, while none of videos here are marked as Pittsburgh, so the actual location remains unknow, though I tend to believe that Pittsburgh is a correct answer because there's an accurate date. Pittsburgh, Benedum Center (03.08 - 18.09.1999)
7 September 1999; Pittsburgh, USA* Brad Little (Phantom), Rebecca Pitcher (Christine), Richard Todd Adams (Raoul), Ian Jon Bourg (André) Heavy generation loss, absolutely black-and-white picture without any remaining of color except rare sand color stains, quite and hissing sound. Filming is alright but close-ups are very rare. Phantom- and André-oriented highlights, ~1h 30min. Includes 3 minutes of news clips in the beginning. VOB|1 DVD|3.31 GB
San Diego, San Diego Civic Theatre (28.10 - 27.11.1999)
11 November 1999; San Diego, USA* Brad Little (Phantom), Rebecca Pitcher (Christine), Richard Todd Adams (Raoul) Highlights, ~1h. Can someone explain how is it possible that there are vertical bootlegs from late 90s? I thought that such things appeared with cameras on the phone closer to the mid 00s. MP4|3.37 GB
Fort Lauderdale, Broward Center (22.11 - 17.12.2000)
30 November 2000; Fort Lauderdale, USA** Ted Keegan (Phantom), Rebecca Pitcher (Christine), John Cudia (Raoul) Heavy generation loss and spotlight washout. Quite many close-ups but details are hardly visible anyway. For some reason the menu says it was filmed in Tampa (Florida) but it doesn't seem to be true. Highlights, ~57 minutes. VOB|1 DVD|1.57 GB
1 December 2002; Philadelphia, USA* Ted Keegan (Phantom), Rebecca Pitcher (Christine), Tim Martin Gleason (Raoul), Kim Stengel (Carlotta), DC Anderson (André), David Cryer (Firmin), Frederic Heringues (Piangi), Patti Davidson-Gorbea (Mme Giry), Erin Sacks (Meg) Sepia picture, great close-ups though heavy head obstruction. Overloaded sound but when it isn't loud, it's perfect. VOB|1 DVD|2.93 GB missing smalls

VOB|1 DVD|3.03 GB
Salt Lake City, Capital Theatre (02.06 - 11.07.2004)
6 June 2004; Salt Lake City, USA* Tim Martin Gleason (Phantom u/s), Sarah Lawrence (Christine), Peter Lockyer (Raoul u/s) The quality is quite bad. It’s like watching a very old VHS-tape. There is color bleeding and it’s grainy. You can make out what’s happening but there are almost no nuances (only when they zoom in a lot, and they almost never do that). VOB|1 DVD|2.63 GB missing smalls

Christine), Tim Martin Gleason (Raoul), Kim Stengel (Carlotta), DC Anderson (André), David Cryer (Firmin), John Whitney (Piangi), Patti Davidson-Gorbea (Mme Giry), Kate Wray (Meg) Master's note: FULL SHOW, yay! A bit on the darkish side since my light meter messed up. A brief cover-up for a few seconds during Hannibal. A *crazy* audience that applauds at every available moment. Also a funny flub where the monkey sits tipped over on its side for almost all of Final Lair. Mauer very smoothly fixes it when he’s screaming at Christine and Raoul to go. VOB|2 DVD|7.70 GB
